A novel ‘Deuti’ written in the Nepali language by journalist and writer Akhshar Kaka is now available in bookstores. This is the first novel by Kaka who writes in both fiction and non-fiction genres. The book depicting social realities has taken female suppression, social superstitious and misconducts as its themes. The book that according to the writer tries to reflect situation of the Nepali society ranging from 1990-2025 BS, social life of single women and their psychology is equally relevant in the present situation as well. “Deuti is about a gloomy picture of life being survived by women since the past and this does not seem unfamiliar in the present time,” the writer added. The women community continue to be suppressed these days, too, and this as he said has prodded him to write the book to bring such stories to light. The 243-page book is published by the Sangrila Books.
